Great news, everyone! The nursery is finally complete. I know I’ve talked about how we are “almost there” in completing the nursery about 23 times, but the time has come. I owe huge props to Mike and our parents for helping make this nursery possible. We certainly could not have done it without them. From the furniture, chair, painting and decorations, they have all helped us tremendously. We are very grateful and fortunate to have such wonderful parents! We have been searching for THE picture to hang in Bryson’s room and haven’t had any success. This is what we have been waiting for to make his room complete. We got THE picture at the shower. It is perfect, and matches his room completely.

It’s definitely been a fun and challenging journey getting everything ready for Bryson. I cannot count the loads of laundry I have finished already, and he is not even here yet. Getting the closet organized has been the biggest challenge. I couldn’t decide if I wanted to hang ALL of his clothes, including onesies and jammies, or just outfits. I went with everything. That may change if I realize that wasn’t a very practical decision. Time will tell.
We had our first baby shower last Saturday. It was definitely the best baby shower EVER! Everything was decorated so sweet with animals (his nursery theme) and baby items. The diaper cake was the coolest one I’ve ever seen. It had so many goodies on there that I kept discovering new ones every time I would walk past it. I was also told there are hidden bottles on the inside which hold it up. We will use every bit of this diaper cake, but hopefully not too soon because I don’t want to take it apart. For now, it’s strictly decoration.

I can’t begin to describe how many wonderful gifts we received. It took two cars and an SUV to get us home after the shower. I couldn’t believe it. We got more than we could have ever wished for. Some main items included the travel system (car seat, stroller and base), and extra base for Mike’s car, the high chair, the pack n play, the swing, tons of clothes, diapers, bath and bedding items and the list goes on. I wish I would have taken a picture of Bryson’s room once we piled everything in there. It was insane. I was so excited about everything when we got home that I had to get it all out and play with it. Mike put together all the stuff that required building and Amanda, Amber and I unpacked, de-tagged and organized the rest. That’s where all the laundry came in to play. I was exhausted by the time I sat down for dinner, but I was on such a baby shower high that I wanted to keep going. Mike had to talk me off the ledge and had me stop for the rest of the night. I’m glad he did, because I felt the effects of non-stop action on Sunday.
